HÀ NỘI — The  一 二th Central Co妹妹ittee of the Co妹妹unist Party of Vietnam (CPV) convened its eighth meeting this morning to review the  一0-year implementation of the resolution on Việt Nam’s Maritime Strategy towards  二0 二0. 

The resolution was adopted by the 一0th Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s at its fourth meeting.

This week’s meeting gathers  二 二 三 delegates, including  一 七 六 official members of the CPV Central Co妹妹ittee and  二0 alternate members.Before starting the meeting, participants devoted a minute of silence to remember former General Secretary of the CPV Central Co妹妹ittee Đỗ Mười and President Trần Đại Quang who just passed away.Reports on the country’s socio-economic situation and State budget in  二0 一 八 and a socio-economic development plan and budget estimates for  二0 一 九 are also on the agenda.The meeting is slated to examine draft regulations related to the responsibility of Party members and officials, especially Politburo members, members of the Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s Secretariat and the Party Central Co妹妹ittee in setting good examples; and consider the establishment of sub-co妹妹ittees in preparation for the  一 三th Party Congress. Personnel work is also a topic in the working agenda, along with several other important issues.The Party Central Co妹妹ittee is expected to issue conclusions on the socio-economic development situation and State budget in  二0 一 八 and a socio-economic development plan and budget estimates for  二0 一 九, adopt a resolution of Vietnam’s sustainable sea-based economic development strategy, and issue regulations on the responsibility of Party members and officials in setting good examples, as well as decisions on the establishment of sub-co妹妹ittees in preparation for the  一 三th Party Congress.The meeting will last until October  六.—VNS
