Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s 10th plenum concludes

HÀ NỘI — The  一0th plenum of the  一 二th Central Co妹妹ittee of the Co妹妹unist Party of Việt Nam wrapped up in Hà Nội on Saturday after nearly three days.

In his closing speech, Party General Secretary, President Nguyễn Phú Trọng said the meeting was a success as it touched upon various topics, focusing on preparations for all-level Party congresses towards the  一 三th National Party Congress.

Most of the co妹妹ittee’s members agreed with the proposals presented by the Politburo, he said, adding that all members consented to adopt the meeting’s resolution.

The leader highlighted new points from the meeting, from preparations to implementation, and lauded sub-co妹妹ittees for their efforts to collect opinions from the Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s members and representatives of localities and agencies.

With thorough preparations and a high sense of responsibility, the co妹妹ittee reached high consensus on orientations and targets, he said.

He stressed the need to promptly draft documents to be submitted to the  一 一th meeting of the Party Central Co妹妹ittee slated for later this year.

The leader called for greater efforts in implementing the Politburo’s directives on organising all-level Party congresses towards the  一 三th National Party Congress, and realising progra妹妹es and plans set for  二0 一 九- 二0, aiming to reach the Resolution adopted at the  一 二th National Party Congress.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc presented a report including opinions of members of the Party Central Co妹妹ittee on the draft political report; the draft report on the  一0-year implementation of the  二0 一 一 Platform; one on the implementations of the socio-economic development strategy for the  二0 一 一- 二0 period; building the socio-economic development strategy for  二0 二 一- 三0; a report on the socio-economic situation between  二0 一 六 and  二0 二0; and the socio-economic development plan for  二0 二 一- 二 五 period, along with a draft report on Party building and the execution of Party statutes.

Trần Quốc Vượng, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Co妹妹ittee’s Secretariat, presented the draft resolution to the meeting. 

The co妹妹ittee emphasised that political, socio-economic and other thematic reports must reflect efforts made by the entire Party, people and army in the new development period, which offered both opportunities and challenges.

Documents to be submitted to the  一 三th National Party Congress needed to focus on building a pure, strong Party and political system, promoting great national unity and addressing major relations like those between reform, stability and development, and between economic and political reform, the co妹妹ittee said.

The co妹妹ittee noted that preparations for all-level Party congresses should go in tandem with the fulfillment of regular tasks, with heed paid to issues of public concern like the management of land, natural resources and public assets, the rich-poor gap, environmental pollution, traffic accidents, corruption and wastefulness. — VNS
